Michael

Director, Commercial Development

Vancouver Airport Authority

As Director, of Commercial Development Michael oversees the Airport Authority’s land development, property management and cargo business. Working with tenants, business partners, developers, and investors he is responsible for managing and growing YVR’s non-aeronautical revenue and cargo tonnage throughput.

Michael has been at YVR for over 14 years and has held positions in several departments including Finance and Corporate Strategy.  In 2017 Michael worked closely on the development and rollout of the Authority’s 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.  In 2018 Michael moved into the Business Development department and played an integral role in managing tenant requirements and changes to the cargo business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Michael obtained his Chartered Accountant designation while working at KPMG LLP as a Manager in the audit practice. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.
