今天这张专辑是 1981 年发行的 The Man with the Horn. 距离Miles的上一张录音室专辑 On the Corner （1972）已经过去了9年，Miles 卷土重来，东山再起。

这张专辑的风格明显收到流行音乐的影响，继续探索摇滚乐，funk，fusion与爵士融合的道路。

有趣的是，这张录制于1981年的专辑里竟然出现了 Bill Evans的名字，而 Evans 已经于1980年秋天去世了。原来参与这张专辑录制的萨克斯手也叫 Bill Evans，与Miles 乐队的前钢琴手，著名爵士钢琴家 Bill Evans同名同姓。也是一个非常有意思的巧合。参与 The Man with the Horn 录制的时候，萨克斯手 Bill Evans才23岁。
