Are u in the market for something= You need to buy something.
1. in the market for sth (needind a big purchase, and more thoughts, not daily commodities)
Ex: I'm in the market for a new car. Can you help me?(doesn't physically in the market, doesn't standing in there)
2. searching for
Ex: I'm searching for a desk for my home office.
3.would like/ to need to purchase
Ex: I'd like to purchase a coffee table, any suggestions?
4. to be in need of sth
Ex: I am in need of a gift for my Mom. I don't know what to buy.
Role play:
A: Hi, how can I help you?
B: I am in the market for some furniture for my new apartment.
A: What are you looking for?
B: I am definitely in need of a new bed.
A: Ok, a new bed. Got it.
B: Also, I am searching for a desk for my office.
A: We have plenty of those.
B:Great, and I also would like to purchase a volume … for TV.
