1. preposterous 荒谬的 可笑的
negative word, basically mean ridiculous, daily conversation silly, an extream sounding word but you can use it in a playful way, and when use it seriously it can be affensive .
exaggerate 使扩大 /夸张
eg, i know my outfits is preposterous, isn't it ?
(i wore wrong color)
eg, your arguments here is preposterous, you have nothing to back up you claims.
eg, this line is preposterous, when will i get more people to start walking at the register .
2. ridiculous 可笑的 荒谬的
eg, the price at that restaurant are ridiculous, let's go somewhere else.
3. insane疯狂的 愚蠢的 荒唐的
eg, this price are insane .
should we get to the party at six ?
that's ridiculous, you know we have to be fashionably ? late.
fine fine but i don't wanna leave during rash hour.高峰期,that it be just illogical 不合逻辑/常理的
yep true, and the trafic is ridiculous at that time.
