✓: I wish I had million dollars.(wish in the present)
✗: I wish I have million dollars.
Tips: using past tense even for something u r feeling in the present.
regrets in the past, using past perfect tense.
Ex: I wished I had written down his phone number.
Ex: I wished I hadn't lost that form.
If only(The core idea is the same, but a little bit of anxed over regret. a strong emotion)没听出来那个anxt or…
Tips: "I wish" could stand on its own, but"If only"
has to be with a little more context.
Ex: If only I'd written down his phone number, I could call him up and offer the position.(a little more wanting)
