The difference between "I wish" and "If only"

I wish(all about wanting something alternative through the reality, and it could be in the present, in the past or in the future.)
✓: I wish I had million dollars.(wish in the present)
✗: I wish I have million dollars.
Tips: using past tense even for something u r feeling in the present.
regrets in the past, using past perfect tense.
Ex: I wished I had written down his phone number.
Ex: I wished I hadn't lost that form.
If only(The core idea is the same, but a little bit of anxed over regret. a strong emotion)没听出来那个anxt or…
Tips: "I wish" could stand on its own, but"If only"
has to be with a little more context.
Ex: If only I'd written down his phone number, I could call him up and offer the position.(a little more wanting)

A: Wow, I wish I know how expensive this place was. Didn't you look at the menu?
B: Yes, but I didn't realize I kinda went overboard only if I had a double check with you on the budget. I could've decided on different place. I am sorry.
A: It's ok.
B: Thx for understanding. Are we aren't for the exercise class later?
A: I wish I could, but I have a class tonight.
B: ok, if only the class was on Fridays, we could both go.
A: I wish.

AEE 2294: How to Connect Over Hopes and Wishes in English
1. i wish,can use in present/ future/ pass.
a wish for the pass is usually a kind of regret .
eg, i wished i had written down her phone number.
eg, i wished i hadn't forgott the conversation.
a wish for the present, use for pass tense for something that you're feeling at present.
eg, i wish i had one million dollars.
eg, i wish i could meet you at lunch but i have a meeting at 12:30.

2. if only , 如果……就好了need to add more contexts before/ after saying this phrase.
a kind of regret, stronger feeling than wish, a longing for something.
渴望：强烈地希望得到某物或某种情感
eg, if only i could meet you at lunch.
(a little much)
eg, if only i have one million dollars, i could aboard to...
eg, she's so pretty if only i have written down her phone number.
