What's the difference between"gaslight" and "brainwash"
👏past tense of"gaslight"= "gaslit" or "gaslight ed" both are correct.
gaslight= manipulation using psychological methods into questioning their own sanity(dictionary definition)
a connection with a real way to abuse someone psychologically for romantic relationship or family relationship or even for politics.
Ex: She found many signs that he was cheating on her, but he tried to galight her by saying none of them were real.
Ex: Don't gaslight me. I know what I've heard.
Ex: The governor was guilty of gaslighting in their answers to their reporters.
to brainwash= to make someone adopt radically different beliefs by systematical and forceable pressure
Tips: "gaslight" and "brainwash" they could be connected and related. Someone is gaslighting you and aslo kind of potentially brainwashing you. They may come together, but they don't mean the same thing.
Ex: She tried to brainwash him into agreeing with her politically, but he read up on the topic for himself and realized that she was wrong.
Ex: He was totally brainwashed. He thinks he works for the best company, but he doesn't see all the flaws.
Tips: Used in a casual way, more conversational.

What's the difference between gaslight and brainwash ?
1. gaslight PUA，心理操控使人产生自我怀疑
dictionary definition: using psychological心理的 methods into questioning their own sanity心智健全神志清楚 or power of reasoning.
to gaslight someone = to abuse someone.
make them think they're losing their mind.
eg, She founds plenty signs that he's cheating on her but he try to gaslight her by saying none of them were real.
Don't gaslight me, i know what i heard, they were gossiping about me and Don't make it seen i didn't hear it.
The governor was guilty about gaslighting in his answers to the reporter, it didn't matter because the public can ... see them in action and they have made up their mind.
2. brainwash 对...洗脑
they may come together but they Don't mean the same thing. brainwash we see it more in different ways, It's more common for conversation.
you might be brainwashing somebody while gaslight them, but brainwash someone is not necessarily gaslighting them.
eg, She try to brainwash him into agreeing with her politically but he read up on the topic for himself and realize that she was wrong.
