"Happen to" is to soften a request
👋did something by chance, taking away the intention of something.
👋no big deal if you didn't do something.
Ex: Did you happen to bring that costume I borrowed?
Ex: Did you happen to look the proposal I sent you.
🚩by chance(decrease the urgency)
Ex: By chance, did you decide whether to come on the trip or not?
Ex: Do you have the platter you borrowed from me by chance?
🚩by any chance
Ex: By any chance, could you give me a ride?
Tips: both of them are correct and interchangble. It's probably more about dialects.
🚩if not no worries(no big deal at all of it doesn't work at all)
Ex: Could you watch my dog when I'm on vacation? if not no worries at all.
Ex: My car is in the shop. Could you give me a ride to pick it up. No worries, I can call an Uber.
