Play card games with English idioms
1️⃣play your cards right(likely lead to a success or successful outcome.)
Ex: If you play your cards right, I'll let you in on the secret.
Ex: I was going to meet him for drinks, but he didn't play his cards right.
2️⃣in the cards(something is likely to happen or destined)
Ex: I think the promotion is in the cards for me.
Ex: I was hoping to get that job, but I guess it's not in the cards.
👏The British way: on the cards(in the cards)
San山:3️⃣stack the deck(It's a situation where someone has unfair advantage or where the odds heavily in the favor) 👏👏👏"something is stacked" is shortened by "stack the deck" Ex: I feel like I have stack the deck at work since our team works so well together. 👏👏👏It's more often used in disadvantages sence, but it can be used this way as well when playing cars game amd counting cards, that means you still have a lot of good cards. 4️⃣play one's carda close to the chest(to secretive or cautious about one's plans) Ex: I don't what her plans are. She plays her cards really to close to the chest. 5️⃣poker face(It's an impassive expression that has one's true feelings) Ex: Don't go to the Casino, you'll have a terrible poker face. Ex: He's a good poker face. I can tell what he was thinking.
