Erinome:Hello dear friends, today we are going to talk about a hot topic in China's new energy vehicle industry. Have you heard about Nezha Auto recently?

Enceladus:Nezha Auto? Oh right, I remember it was once called a "dark horse" in the new energy car market. What happened to it now?

Erinome:Um, some bad news. On August 11th, its parent company, Hezhong New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., was listed as a "Shixin Beizhixingren" by a court.

Enceladus:Shixin Beizhixingren? What does that mean? I’m not sure about this term.

Erinome:Oh, it’s a Chinese legal term. Simply put, it means the company failed to fulfill its legal obligations, like paying money it owed. So the court lists it as a dishonest company that doesn’t keep promises.

Enceladus:Oh no! That sounds serious. Why was it listed?

Erinome:The reason was "violating the property report system". And the court said they didn’t履行 (lǚxíng, fulfill) any of their obligations.

Enceladus:Wow, not even a little? What about other legal problems?

Erinome:You know that? Hezhong has more issues. As of now, there are 7 enforcement cases against it, totaling 3.5003 million yuan. And 102 consumption restriction orders too!

Enceladus:102? That’s a lot. So they can’t spend money freely now? Like no luxury cars or trips?

Erinome:Probably. And there’s more. 100股权冻结 (gǔquán dòngjié, share freezes) and even bankruptcy reorganization cases.

Enceladus:Bankruptcy reorganization? Did they really go bankrupt?

Erinome:Not exactly "bankrupt" yet. Reorganization means they’re trying to save the company by finding new investors. The court started reviewing bankruptcy cases in May, and in June, they even appointed a manager for the reorganization.

Enceladus:So are they looking for investors now?

Erinome:Yes! They started recruiting investors on July 10th, and the deadline is September 8th. On Ali Assets platform, 66 people have shown interest, and 11,582 people have checked it out.

Enceladus:11,582围观 (wéiguān, views)? That’s a lot of attention. But Nezha Auto was once so promising, right?

Erinome:Totally! It was founded in 2018 and got "double qualifications" for new energy passenger cars early. Many thought it would be a big player. But now… financial crisis hit, and everything went wrong.

Enceladus:Sad. What about the customers who bought Nezha cars? Are they okay?

Erinome:Oh, that’s the worst part. Customers are having a hard time. The after-sales system is almost broken.

Enceladus:After-sales? Like repairs and parts?

Erinome:Yes! Because Hezhong has no money, suppliers stopped providing parts. So when cars break down, 4S shops either close or say "no parts". One owner’s Nezha S had brake problems, but no parts to fix it. The car just sits there!

Enceladus:That’s terrible. What about warranties? They must have promised things like battery warranties.

Erinome:Exactly! They used to say "lifetime battery warranty", but now it’s all empty promises. Customers call the official hotline, but no one answers. Or they’re told "wait, no timeline".

Enceladus:So customers can’t get help even if their cars are still under warranty?

Erinome:Right. On complaint platforms, there are at least 30 complaints about missing parts in three months. Some repair shops even ask customers to pay by themselves, but then they lose the warranty. It’s a trap!

Enceladus:That’s a dead loop. Can they sue the company?

Erinome:Legally, yes. But it’s hard. Suing alone costs money, and the company is in reorganization. Even if they win, maybe they can’t get money back. Some are trying group complaints, though.

Enceladus:Group complaints? Like together?

Erinome:Yes, through platforms like 12315. Lawyers say they should keep contracts and repair records, and watch the reorganization progress. But Hezhong has lost 19.6 billion yuan. So customers might get very little back.

Enceladus:Oh wow, 19.6 billion? That’s a huge loss. What assets does Hezhong have now?

Erinome:They have 350 mu of land in Zhejiang, production lines, machines, and the "Nezha Auto" trademark. That’s why investors might be interested.

Enceladus:So the brand is still valuable? Maybe someone will buy it.

Erinome:Maybe. But the future is still unknown. Even if investors come, rebuilding trust with customers will take a long time.

Enceladus:This is a warning for the new energy car industry, right?

Erinome:Absolutely! Many new car companies relied too much on investment, not core technology. When capital leaves, they struggle. Customers should check a company’s financial health before buying, not just price or features.

Enceladus:True. It’s sad to see a "dark horse" fall like this. I hope the customers can get some help soon.

Erinome:Me too. Okay, that's it for today. Let's talk again next time. Bye!

Enceladus:Bye!
