Erinome: Hello dear friends, welcome to our podcast! I'm Erinome.

Enceladus: And I'm Enceladus. Today we’re talking about the "Beginning of Autumn" solar term, which started on August 7th this year. Do you feel the weather changing lately?

Erinome: Oh yes! Days are still hot, but nights are cooler. But I heard this season switch can bring health problems. You know that?

Enceladus: Yeah! The news said our breathing system gets weak now. Like dry mouth, dry skin, even constipation—they call it "autumn dryness" symptoms.

Erinome: Oh no, "autumn dryness" sounds annoying. So first, what should we eat to fight it? I love food talk, haha.

Enceladus: Me too! Doctors from Yexian Hospital said we need to "eat less spicy, more sour" to protect lungs and moisten body. What foods are good?

Erinome: Um… white foods? Like snow pears? My grandma makes pear soup in autumn.

Enceladus: Exactly! White fungus, lily bulbs, yam, lotus root too. They help moisten lungs and stop dry cough.

Erinome: And sour fruits? Grapes, apples?

Enceladus: Yes! Pomegranates, grapes, apples—they help "collect" lung energy. Also, porridge like barley yam porridge or lily莲子 soup—good for the stomach.

Erinome: Yummy! But what can’t we eat? I love spicy hotpot.

Enceladus: Oh no, spicy things like chili, ginger, garlic make dryness worse. Fried food too. And cold drinks, watermelon—they hurt the spleen, maybe cause diarrhea.

Erinome: Oh, I’ll miss watermelon. What about people with tumors? Any special rules?

Enceladus: Yes! The hospital said they should avoid warm foods like mutton. Don’t take "strong nutrition"—their body might not handle it. Better eat mild food and ask doctors first.

Erinome: Important tip. Now, sleep. I stay up late scrolling phones. Bad idea in autumn?

Enceladus: Oh yes! News says sleep before 22:30 to keep "yin energy", and get up around 6:00 to make lungs happy. This also lowers blood clot risk.

Erinome: 22:30? That’s early for me, haha. Why sleep early now?

Enceladus: Autumn is for "collecting energy", not summer’s "growing". So we need more rest to store energy.

Erinome: Got it. And keeping warm? Nights are cool—what parts to protect?

Enceladus: Belly, neck, ankles! These get cold easily. Don’t let AC blow directly on you—might catch a cold or joint pain.

Erinome: I sit under AC at work. I’ll move my chair. Room air is so dry—my skin feels tight. What to do?

Enceladus: Use a humidifier! Keep room humidity 40%-60%. No humidifier? Put a basin of water. Helps with dryness.

Erinome: Smart. Now exercise. I run in the morning, but there’s dew sometimes. Okay?

Enceladus: Better do mild exercise—Tai Chi, Baduanjin, or walking. Just sweat a little, not too much. Time: 9-11 am or 4-6 pm. Avoid hot/dewy times.

Erinome: I’ll try afternoon walks. What about mood? I heard people feel "sad" in autumn—"bei qiu".

Enceladus: Yes! News says get 15 minutes of morning sun daily—it makes "happy hormones". Also, massage Neiguan (3 fingers above wrist) and Taiyuan (front of wrist) for 3 minutes. Calms you down.

Erinome: I’ll try massaging tonight. Now, heart/brain patients—any risks?

Enceladus: Big risks! The expert said check blood pressure morning and night. Don’t "autumn freeze"—no cold clothes. And no hard morning exercise—blood vessels might shrink suddenly.

Erinome: Scary! What about rumors? Like "输七天液 to clean blood vessels"—my grandpa talks about that.

Enceladus: Fake! Doctor said artery plaque forms over years. 输液 can’t wash it. Might even cause heart failure.

Erinome: Oh! Another rumor: "When cool, blood pressure normal—stop medicine." My neighbor does that.

Enceladus: No! Blood pressure can jump 20 mmHg now—like normal to high level 2. Stopping medicine is dangerous.

Erinome: And "red wine softens vessels"? I saw ads for that.

Enceladus: New study says no! World Heart Federation said alcohol hurts heart/brain. Drinking vinegar? Also no proof.

Erinome: So real vessel protection?

Enceladus: Healthy lifestyle! Good sleep, less salt/sugar, mild exercise. Also, be careful 3-6 am—high heart risk time for elderly.

Erinome: So overall, follow nature and science, not rumors.

Enceladus: Exactly! Expert said "no quick fixes, no secret recipes"—just eat/sleep/move well.

Erinome: Sum up: white/sour foods, sleep before 22:30, warm belly/neck/ankles, mild exercise, sun/massage, check blood pressure, ignore rumors.

Enceladus: Yes! Then we’ll enjoy a nice autumn. Okay, that’s it for today. Let's talk again next time!

Erinome: Bye friends! Stay healthy!
