Erinome: Hello dear friends! Today we are going to talk about a Chinese actor, Xie Mengwei. People often call him "Gazi Xie Mengwei". He has some serious problems these days. Have you heard about him, Enceladus?

Enceladus: Oh, yes! I saw his news online. He did something wrong with live streaming, right? Like wearing a police uniform?

Erinome: Exactly! Let’s start with that. A man from Liaoning, Mr. Li, was watching Gazi’s live stream. He noticed Gazi was wearing a police uniform and selling things. So Mr. Li called the police in Yunnan province.

Enceladus: Oh no! Why is wearing a police uniform during live streaming bad?

Erinome: Because China has rules: You can’t use police uniforms for things like live streaming. Only for movies or shows, and even then, you need permission from the police. Gazi was filming a movie, but during a break, he wore the uniform to sell products—like a power bank with WiFi.

Enceladus: Wow, that’s not allowed. What did the police do to him?

Erinome: The Yunnan police said he made a bad social impact. So they detained him for 7 days.

Enceladus: 7 days in detention? That’s serious. Did his social media accounts get in trouble too?

Erinome: Yes! His Kuaishou account (a big Chinese app) was banned. He had 11.165 million fans there. Later, his Douyin account (like TikTok) was also banned, but now Douyin is okay—people can follow him again. But Kuaishou is still banned.

Enceladus: Oh, so some accounts are back, some not. But wait, I also heard he has money problems. Like, the court is making him pay a lot?

Erinome: Oh right! That’s another big issue. People checked an app called Qichacha (like a business info app) and found he has new "person to be executed" records.

Enceladus: "Person to be executed"? What does that mean?

Erinome: It means he owes money and didn’t pay, so the court is forcing him to pay. For example, with his wife Guo Shanshan, a court in Hunan province asked them to pay about 2.1 million yuan. Then, with his wife and two others (Lin and Zu), a court in Beijing asked them to pay 5 million yuan again.

Enceladus: Oh no, that’s a lot. Are there more?

Erinome: Yes! Before, he and a person named Zu were asked to pay 5.24 million yuan by a court in Henan. And because of a loan problem, another Henan court asked him to pay 1.71 million yuan. He’s also limited from high spending—can’t buy expensive things.

Enceladus: Let me add those numbers… 2.1 + 5 + 5.24 + 1.71 = over 14 million yuan! Oh wow, more than 14 million. That’s a huge amount of money.

Erinome: Exactly! Over 14 million. So he has big money troubles now.

Enceladus: Did he say anything about all this? Like, apologize?

Erinome: Yes! He made a new video and said, "I’m back". He apologized to everyone and said he needs to take responsibility for his mistakes.

Enceladus: What else did he say in the video?

Erinome: He said he wants to be alone, so he refused all media interviews. He also sent his company workers back to their hometowns. And he will stop live streaming for a while—needs to rest.

Enceladus: So he’s taking a break from live streaming. What about his acting job? I heard he was filming a movie.

Erinome: Oh right! He was the main actor in a movie. But after this, the movie producer said they won’t use him anymore. They have to reshoot all his scenes with a new actor. That’s a lot of work—other actors have to come back too.

Enceladus: That’s sad for the movie team. Did he lose fans because of all this?

Erinome: Yes. His Kuaishou account lost 63,000 fans because it’s still banned.

Enceladus: So many problems at once: wearing police uniform, detention, banned accounts, owing 14 million, losing his movie role, fans leaving… That’s really tough.

Erinome: Yeah. He apologized, but the problems are still big. Do you think he can fix this, Enceladus?

Enceladus: Um… It’s hard to say. He needs to pay the 14 million first, and fix his public image. Maybe stopping live streaming to rest is a good start. But 14 million is a lot of money.

Erinome: You know that? Live streaming can make money fast, but if you break the rules, you lose everything—fans, jobs, money.

Enceladus: Right. Rules are important, even for famous people.

Erinome: So to wrap up: Gazi wore police uniform for live streaming, got detained 7 days, some accounts banned, owes over 14 million yuan, sent workers home, stopped live streaming, lost his movie role, lost fans, and apologized.

Enceladus: That’s a lot to take in. I hope he learns from this and does better.

Erinome: Me too. Okay, that’s it for today. Thanks for listening, dear friends. Let’s talk again next time!
