Do phrasal verbs wind you up?
1.to end up in a situation usually unexpected
Ex:you keep skipping classes you'll wind up failing the course
Ex:you'll wind up regretting it, if you do that
Past tense : wound up
Ex: he wound up in Paris, after taking the wrong train
2.to conclude sth
Ex: let's wind up the meeting, we've covered everything in agenda
3.to close down a company in the sense of do your final accounting for a given year
Ex:by midnight the party was winding up (concluding everyone is leaving)
4.to irritate or annoy someone in a way you're starting them up
Ex:she really knows how to wind up her little brother
5.winding up a toller or clock
Ex:i need to wind up the old clock every week preparing it to run
6.to cause someone to feel tense or nervous
Ex:don't wind yourself up about things you can't control
EX:don't get wound up what he says
constantly on the go
Role play:
A:i can't believe i wound up at the wrong coffee this morning i was supposed to meet Sarah but somehow i wind up on the wrong side of town
B:oh that can happened to everyone, don't get wound up about it!
A:easier said that done my little brother, won't stop trying wind me about it, he keep saying i have no sense of a direction
B:that's totally sth my brother would do!
A:OK!we need to wind up this game, so we can get ready for the party otherwise we wind up being late
B:oh! good idea, I also need to wind up that old clock before we leave otherwise it'll stop

2. 结束,终止

· The party started to wind up around midnight.

3. 关闭(公司),清算

· 含义: 正式关闭一家公司并进行财务清算。

· 含义: 故意说或做一些事来激怒或逗弄某人。
· 例句:
