🌈How to riff in English for better small talk
Riff: to improve or build on a subject.
a little bit spontaneous, playful, light on your feet. The goal is to find something banter about rather than sticking with a small talk.
1️⃣ Role play
A: Oh, I just dodged a bullet. I thought that person was waving and almost waved back, but they are waving someone behind me.
B: Oof! Classic! I'm impressed you caught yourself in time.
A: It was close one. Do you ever say you too when the waiters tell you to enjoy the meal ll?
B: Constantly! like tanks you too and I just want to melt into the floor.
A: The uber drive drops you off at the airport and says have a good flight, and you respond you too.

3️⃣Role Play(about food)
A: So what's the weirdest food come above you secretly love?
B: Hmm! weirdest? wow, definitely peanut butter pickles!
A: Wait, what? peanut, butter, pickles? That's actually terrifying.
B: I know. I don't mention it to many people, because I know they'll judge me, but don't knock it till try it, so good!
A: Yeah, I do like sweet and savory together. I might have to try it.
B: What about you? any combos you love?
A: Yes, chocolate and french fries, and hot fries dunked in chocolate.
B: That is actually genious. Sweet and salty is where it's at. We're basically flavor alchemists here.
B: Totally. I like to think of it as rebellion against basic snacks.
A: Agreed. Next step ice cream and sauerkraut.
B: Oh, it can't be worth peanut, butter and pickles.

2️⃣Role Play(on forgetting names)
A: I apologize in advance if I forget your name. I'm terrible with the names.
B: Me too. It's like my brain goals. Nope! too much information delete.
A: Yes and then you try to hide it by calling them 'friend' or 'you'! Hey, you!
B: That's better than accidentally calling them wrong name! Hi, Sara! I'm Lisa!
