Describe a crowded place you have been to

I went to a night food market last month during my solo trip in Dunhuang. I asked a taxi driver where the liveliest place to have some local specialities was. He recommended and drove me to the food market. Upon my arrival, I was taken aback by the scene in front of me. There were already a lot of/ crowds of people chatting with each other and walking happily. There were restaurants on both sides of the street, and their owners were touting/calling out loudly to attract more people. In the middle of the street, there was a row of temporary stalls selling postcards, paintings and other souvenirs. I walked for a while and stopped by an open square where there were lots of food stands and people in lines. I bought a bowl of lamb noodles and a bottle of local beverage, they were delicious with reasonable prices. I had a great time there.
