Some revisions

1. I am not into some drab and dark colors because they seem very heavy; rather, I prefer some bright colors which can bring vigour/vitality and liveliness.

2. By Chinese convention, red and yellow are the most typical/iconic/symbolic colors in some ceremonies or architecture. For red, it represents/symbolizes a sense of passion, joy, heat, and prosperity, while yellow is the unique color to stand the empire, and divine right. Both colors can be treated as signals for some auspicious meanings such as driving away evil spirits.

* imperial a. relating to an empire

*connotation n.a feeling or idea that is suggested by a particular word, an object

Both colors have auspicious conotations such as bringing good luck and driving away evil spirits.

Part2 question: talk about an idea you have had to make the world a better place

The revised version:

I have had an idea about environmental protection. Actually it's not something big and amazing, it's just a pragmatic and small idea rooted in daily life. The idea is to do whatever I can do make the world greener. For example, I turn off the light when I leave the house or try to make use of natural light rather than an incandescent lamp. Other things I do include recycling clothes and old electrical appliances, and taking more public transportations for daily commute.

Admittedly, my idea is very simple but it's doable/ accessible for most people. It can help better/improve our current environment instead of ignoring the daily problems and burying ourselves in/focusing solely on inventing some new energy or technologies to save our planet. By saying so I didn't mean we don't need professors or experts in related/relevant fields, what I want to say is we need to play different roles when addressing the same problem. By doing so/in this way, I think it's more practical/utilitarian.
