🌈The difference between words end in the "z" or "s"sound
suppose with /z/ sound is a verb to think or believe
Ex: I supposed that was the best I could expect for him.
Ex: What do you suppose happen to him?
👏👏👏a little more formal than saying "think"
be supposed to do(=be expected to)
This is the only way we use this wors with 's'sound
Ex:We were supposed to meet at noon, but he was late.
👀Role Play
A: Do you think you really lost his phone?
B: I suppose.(I guess so.Imply you're not sure with a doubt intonation.)
👏👏👏We don't use this verb in the past tense.
✗: I supposed that wat true and then just discovered it wasn't.
supposed(adj, with"z" sound, means sth is generally assumed or believed, but not necessarily true)
Ex: The supposed cure didn't work at all.
Ex: Her supposed boyfriend never calls her.Role Play
A: Everyone is supposed to be at the restaurant by 6:30
B: Right! I'm picking up the cake at 5! Youre bringing balloons right?
A:Wait, I thought you were bringing balloons.
B: Oh, no,maybe Jake was going to. I'll call him. If he's not planning on it, I'll do it.
A: Ok, thx! I do it, but I have to constrains from work. I suppose I could see if I can leave early!
B: No, no, no! I can do it, if Jake can! See u there at 6:30!
