Melodica 22 December 2025
Melodica by Chris Coco. The mix of sounds from mellow Balearic to the deepest house via electronica and oddities; the juxtaposition of new and old; and the inclusive, musical family it has built, have made Chris Coco’s weekly radio broadcast a bit of a staple for many.
This Episode... super DJ and deep digger and record collector supreme - Paul Hillery - has made us a wonderful winter solstice mix for the dark time, the quiet time before the return of the light.
I was unable to sleep last night and decided to play this mix as dawn broke lying in the darkness, as the mix played I could hear the Robin that sits on the fence (where the bins are) outside my bedroom window. The Robin's song interwove with the mix all the way through so perfectly I wish I could have captured the magic. I thought about trying to weave a recording of a Robin into the final mix but I'd never be able to recreate such a one off thing and thought it best stay as a beautiful memory.
