That's a good question, thanks for asking. Learning English as a subject means 1) study the grammar (including the usage of article and preposition) 2) improve the accuracy of understanding and using words and expressions (through reading and writing practices with feedback from teacher or AI) 3) improve your logic sense (so that you could understand the gist of reading and listening with higher efficiency because you know how the logic is usually organized). You can hit the above three goals through intentional exercises created on your own or through a guided course (eg., a TOEFL course) where the teacher helps you elevate these skills.
