Grab 重点搭配+音频原句

1. grab a bite(随便吃点)

• Let’s grab a bite before the meeting.

• We can grab a bite on the way home.

2. grab a coffee/drink(喝杯咖啡/饮品)

• I need to grab a coffee first.

• Want to grab a drink after work?

3. grab a seat/taxi(找座位/打车)

• Grab a seat and I’ll be right back.

• I’ll grab a taxi to the station.

4. grab sth quickly(顺手拿/快速取)

• Let me grab my bag and go.

• Can you grab the keys for me?

5. grab attention/opportunity(吸引注意力/抓住机会)

• Her speech grabbed everyone’s attention.

1.grab
:casual way of saying buy sth./it would be pretty quick.conversational and very easy for someone to do it .
ex:
.I need to grab flour and sugar at the store .
.can you grab that while you're out?

2.pick up
:it's less of a big deal.
ex:
.I'm giving him a ride to the shop so he can pick up his car.
.I need to pick up my grocery order .

🙅can you buy some milk?(a much bigger deal)
✓can you grab/pick up some milk on the way home?

3.get
:more common
ex:
.I need to get some apples while I'm at the store .

⭐️ I need to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy or I need to get my prescription. 🙅(grab)
(because certain verbs were more likely to use for specific things )
⭐️chunk
.I need to get gas while I'm out .
(it's part of it like the action of filling your tank .you can't just pick sth. up or grab sth.)

⭐️.obtain/acquire/purchase(too formal)
🈲fetch/snag
ex:
.I need to fetch my jacket from the car .
(①known object at a specific location.)
(②it might be a little more potentially more British to use it./regional dialect)
(③dog: Fetch!)

.I snagged the last seat on the plane.
(this implication of being lucky to get sth. there is like a special deal. you were lucky to get sth.)
