⭐️compound verb vs. phrasal verb
①compound v.
A broad category for any verb that's made of multiple words.
ex:
· auxiliary verbs : will go / is running
· combinations of multiple words : babysit, daydream, backflip
②phrasal v.
it has to change the meaning when you put the verb and the preposition together
v+ad. /v+prep.
ex:
.blow off(🙅‍♀️doesn't mean blow)
.look up
(direction)I looked up from my book and saw she was leaving.
(search for information)
I need to look up my flight times. / I need to look up that word in the dictionary.

⭐️blow-dry(blow-dried)
It's not a typical phrasal verb where the meaning changes dramatically. It just combines "blow" and "dry" to describe an action, forming a compound.(single/compound verb)

⭐️关于blow的phrasal verb
the particle remains unchanged and the main verb is changed to past tense.
1.blow out
①to extinguish a flame
ex:
.she blew out the candles on her cake .
②a tire to burst
.my tire blew out on the highway .
2.blow up
①explosion
.The old boiler suddenly blew up last night.
② .She blew up when she heard the news.
(It does not mean she literally exploded. It means she got angry.)
. He blew up at his coworker during the meeting.( This doesn't just mean he got angry and sat there silently. It would mean you took it out on them, you reacted, you yelled at them.)
③.I blew up the photo for the presentation.
( It means to make a larger photo or an image.)
