What is your favourite food?
My favourite food has to be(必须得是，带感情色彩) hotpot. There are different soup bases(汤底) you can choose from, like spicy, tomato, mushroom and so on. Then you can cook whatever you want in the pot. There are also different types of dipping sauce(蘸料), such as peanut sesame sauce, oil dipping sauce, and seafood-flavour dipping sauce. It’s so good!
What kind of food did you like when you were young?
When I was younger, I liked different types of noodles. I’m from Shanxi province, which is known as(以…而著名) the noodle province. We’re famous for a variety of noodles. My mum can cook really tasty noodles, and I always looked forward to her hand-made noodles (手工面) after school. They never disappointed me (它们从不让我失望).
Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?
Not really. I know there are different festivals where people are supposed to eat specific foods to celebrate.(很好的where引导的从句) However, because of the abundance and the fact that people are now more affluent,we can eat whatever we want whenever we want. Certain foods are no longer constrained to specific festivals (特定的食物不再是只能在特定的节日吃了).
Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?
Not really. I’ve always been a big fan of hotpot. When I was younger, I didn’t get to (无法做到…) eat hotpot that often. Every time my parents took me for hotpot, I felt thrilled(every time引导的时间状语从句). Now that I’ve tried different cuisines and foods from various countries, hotpot is still my favourite. It’s so special to me.
