Part 1: The Night in Dublin

Part 2: The Duel

Suddenly, an armored car came across the bridge. An old woman pointed toward the roof where the sniper lay. The sniper shot her and the man in the car. But as he did, a bullet from the opposite roof hit his arm. He felt no pain at first, only a sudden blow. Then he realized he was wounded. He dropped his rifle.
Part 3: The Trick
He had to kill the other sniper to survive. He took his cap and placed it over the muzzle (枪口) of his rifle. He pushed the rifle slowly upward until the cap was visible from the opposite roof. A shot rang out. The cap fell. The sniper let his rifle drop to the street.
The enemy sniper, thinking he had killed his opponent, stood up on the roof. The Republican sniper took out his revolver (左轮手枪). Taking a steady aim, he fired. The enemy fell forward and hit the ground below.
Part 4: The Identity
The sniper felt a sudden remorse. The lust (冲动) for battle died in him. He became curious about the man he had killed. Perhaps he had known him before the civil war?
When the sniper reached the street, he turned over the dead body and looked into his brother's face.
