In this episode, 霞客 shares a dream she’s carried with her since childhood—to live close to the mountains and help people reconnect with nature.

We talk about her journey as a cultural ambassador in Australia, where she not only brought Chinese wisdom abroad, but also discovered more about herself and what truly drives her.

Eventually, she returned to China to build something of her own—a farm and a school dedicated to traditional Chinese learning.

I feel so grateful to call her a friend, and to know that I now have a place to visit when I go back to China.

1. Xia Ke is a peaceful lady, who absorbs the spirit of mother nature as her regimen style, which is essential for the tranquilizes that human beings nowadays are potentially in need of.I heard her playing Chinese-zither(gu zheng) 3 times in her chatting room.I could sense that melody is running like the the county from the rubbing finger,to a forest hidden behind the end of the highway under the moonlight.Ripple is dancing as the string vibrates, breeze is petting on our tender heart when music works its magic of riff/runs. Unlike the industrialized pop music,it provides a seemingly easy but comforting vibe where listeners go all in the displacement of letting-go attachment from what they are superficially enjoy. That is why so many foreign people like this traditional Chinese music, for it literally creates something mysteriously intoxicating.
2.Even though people share differences in terms of cultures, ethnics, languages,we all emphasize on anything that basically lies on human nature.Xia Ke's job provides people with more access to these resonance, such as aspirations for retrieval from the greed of modern day to nature oriented lifestyle, along with the primitive empathy that results from nature.I remember JuJu,you had a deep conversation with Banana, mentioning that empathy travels faster than superficial experience. So today's podcast has the equivalent effect that leads me to reconfirm how important it is to build connections during communication.😄😄😄😄

Beautifully said! Thank you🌿
霞客姐姐is amazing👍
It’s rare and precious to meet someone who still holds onto a childhood dream and actually turns it into reality. Living close to nature, sharing traditional Chinese culture, and helping others find peace within themselves — this is exactly the kind of meaningful life many of us only imagine.
