prima facie evidence 1.(presumptive evidence) Evidence that is sufficient to discharge any evidential *burden ofproof borne by a party and that may be sufficient to discharge the persuasiveburden of proof if no evidence in rebuttal is tendered. 2.Evidence of a fact that is of sufficient weight to justify areasonable inference of its existence but does not amount to conclusiveevidence of that fact.
