《I and the Temple of Earth》

A twenty-one-year-old young man found himself confined to a wheelchair overnight by fate. He couldn’t find a job, couldn’t see any future, and every day, he thought about one thing: whether to end his life or not. Yet, at his most despairing moment, an ancient garden abandoned for four hundred years caught him and gave him refuge. In that garden, ants climbed carefully over the stone slabs, ladybugs suddenly spread their wings on blades of grass, and the plants and trees grew quietly amidst the ruins. Shi Tiesheng spent fifteen years in this "desolate but not decayed" garden, and eventually wrote a book that moved countless readers to tears, *I and the Temple of Earth*.
