Song Shaodi Tomb-A Child, An emperor, and the Tomb You'd Never Expect to Find in Shen Zhen.

The Song Shaodi Tomb in Shenzhen is the final resting place of an 8-year-old emperor who leaped into the sea with a loyal minister. After the tragic defeat of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1279, the boy king’s body drifted to Chiwan, where an old monk, drawn by hovering birds, gave him a proper burial. A statue nearby captures Lu Xiufu carrying the young emperor. This is the only imperial tomb in Guangdong Province, listed as a municipal heritage site in 1983. History hides in plain sight here.
