Morning sunlight poured into the forest
Under a big tree, a lion lay curled up, its mane rising and falling with each breath
Not far away, a tiny mouse crept along, sniffing the air
It tripped, stumbling right onto the lion's whiskers
The lion opened one eye
The little mouse froze, too scared to breathe
The lion opened his huge mouth, showing sharp teeth
The mouse curled into a ball, voice trembling
"Please don't eat me, maybe someday I can help you"
The lion paused, then laughed, and let the mouse go
The little mouse tumbled and scrambled into the grass
Three days later, the lion was walking through the valley
Suddenly, a big net fell from the trees, tangling the lion tightly
The lion roared and struggled, but the net only tightened
Hunters were coming
The little mouse heard the roar and poked its head out of the grass
It recognized the lion immediately
Without hesitation, the mouse rushed over
It bit and chewed with its teeth
Chomp, chomp, chomp
For a long, long time
The net finally snapped
The lion was free
The lion lowered his head, looking at this mouse a hundred times smaller than himself
He gently cupped the mouse in his paw
"Thank you," said the lion, "tiny you, saved big me"
The mouse smiled, "because we are good friends"
From that day on, the animals in the forest all said
Never look down on anyone
You never know when, you might need someone else
You never know when, someone might need you
