“A Story Climax of absolute, irreversible change that answers all questions raised by the telling and satisfies all audience emotion is a CLOSED ENDING. A Story Climax that leaves a question or two unanswered and some emotion unfulfilled is an OPEN ENDING.”

On hearing Censilia's crying, Mrs. Winchester came into the kitchen. The girl threw her arms around and burst into loud sobs.
“I told her I’m allergic to peanut sauce, yet she still cooked meals for me with it! She wants to kill me!”
Mrs. Winchester frowned at the gloomy young girl. I would bet a million dollars that she had never mentioned this allergy to me before. But thinking about my ten years spent in prison with a criminal record, I had to give in and apologize repeatedly.
“I’m so, so sorry about this.”
Mrs. Winchester narrowed her eyes at me sharply, looking furious.
“Millie, I hope nothing like this happens again. This is your last chance. My daughter was nearly killed. What time will dinner be ready tonight?”
I was utterly shocked. Mrs. Winchester had only hired me to do cleaning and take care of Censilia, telling me I could cook meals occasionally if I wanted to. It seemed that from that day on, I would have to prepare dinner for the family every single day. But in this tense situation, I dared not argue or refuse at all.
“We can have dinner at seven o’clock.”
Around half past six, Mr. Winchester came home. He could smell the delicious food as soon as he stepped in.
“Thank you so much for preparing dinner, Millie. We’re so lucky that you can handle all these things for us.”
Hearing her husband’s voice, Mrs. Winchester walked into the kitchen. Mr. Winchester then invited me to have dinner with them together. But Mrs. Winchester seemed a little annoyed at this arrangement.
So I quickly made an excuse: “Oh, I need to go to my attic and rest tonight. See you tomorrow.”
