AI chip maker Cerebras Systems raised $5.5 billion in its initial public offering on Thursday, marking the first major tech IPO of 2026. [] ArXiv will ban authors for one year if they let AI do all the work. ArXiv, the widely used open repository for preprint research, is cracking down on the use of large language models in scientific papers. Under the new policy, if a submission contains incontrovertible evidence that the authors did not check the results of LLM generation, such as hallucinated references or visible LLM prompts, the authors will face a one-year ban from the platform. After the ban, subsequent submissions must first be accepted by a reputable peer-reviewed venue. The policy is not an outright prohibition on using AI, but rather an insistence that authors take full responsibility for their content regardless of how it is generated. This is a one-strike rule, and authors will be able to appeal decisions.
