Dear Hiring Manager,
I hope you are well. I am writing regarding the part-time Social Media Marketer position that I had previously agreed to undertake this summer. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am no longer able to accept the role.
A family matter has recently arisen that requires my full attention over the coming months. As a result, I will need to remain close to home and will be unable to commit to the responsibilities associated with the position. Although I considered several alternatives that would allow me to work effectively for your business, I have reluctantly concluded that withdrawing from the role is the most responsible decision.
I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I understand that my decision may create additional difficulties for your recruitment team, particularly as the summer season approaches, and I regret any disruption to your plans.
Despite this situation, I remain very interested in working with your company. The opportunity to contribute to your social media marketing campaigns continues to greatly appeal to me, and I would be grateful if you would consider my application again next summer when my circumstances are expected to be more stable.
