20世纪50年代开始，一直到今天，摇滚乐影响着不止一代人的生活与思想。在1960年代，摇滚乐的热潮更是与英美的反文化运动紧密相连，那些充满反叛与自由的声音，游荡在摇滚乐的每一个音符之间。
有关摇滚乐的话题，也早已不止聚焦于音乐本身。那些关乎文化、信仰、种族、性别的问题一直在被讨论。其中，性别的议题在音乐产业与学术界都受到了不少关注。曾经如“摇滚乐是属于男人的”这类的言论如今已经备受批评，而更多元的视角开始出现。
本期节目就从性别研究视角来讨论摇滚乐，主要借助朱迪斯·巴特勒（Judith·Butler）的性别操演（Gender Performativity）的概念以及几位摇滚乐研究的重要学者的论点。
我会提到在1960-1970年代那些备受瞩目的乐队，也从摇滚乐行业讨论早期摇滚乐界的一种“男性主义之争”以及女性摇滚艺术家的创作与处境。为了深入讨论这些问题，本次『摇滚乐与性别』主题共以两期节目呈现。
