Are you slammed with work? How to talk about it :

1.slammed:
Sth hits you on a forceful hard way
Ex:i got slammed with 50 e-mails
Ex:we were slammed by huge blizzard last weekend
Ex:I'm slammed with work this afternoon
Ex:i was slammed with tons of negative rumours
slammed with / by;
slammed with work / quaintly of sth / e-mails/ negative reviews
slammed by more of a snow storm / wind / huge storm
2.hit (also forceful but it could about emotions as well)
hit by storm/ thunder/wind or also some sort of emotion sth is not tangible
hit with the truth/ reality /a wave of sadness
key is sth happened to you
Ex: we were hit by a terrible thunder storm
Ex: she hit me with the truth
Ex: the basketball player was hit with a huge fine
3.stroke by sth
Stroke by lightning more common
strike with sadness/ anger (arouse within you spontaneously)
Ex:the family was strike by tragedy
Ex:be careful out there, you don't wanna get stroked by lightning
Ex: i was stroke with sadness when he broke up with me
Ex: thier family stroke by tragedy but they overcame it
with comes up with emotions
Role play:
A:how have you been?
B:oh I'm fine! But I'm so ready for spring we were slammed by snow storms all winter
A:oh i heard we were hit by pretty bad thunder storm last month but we are ok
B:that's good! So how are you?
A:I'm good but i was hit by a nasty fine because i forget to pay a parking ticket
B:oh no
A:now good, I'm slammed by work this week,I'm so exhausted
B:i hope you can relax this weekend
A:i was really stroke with sadness when i heard Tom is moving
