1959年，Miles Davis带着Paul Chambers，Bill Evans，John Coltrane等等，在纽约曼哈顿的三十街的录音室，分两天完成了“Kind of Blue”的录音。Bill Evans虽然已经不是乐队的正式成员，但是，这张专辑，几乎是为Evans写作的。录音当天几乎省去了排练，所有曲目都是第一次完整演奏即告完成。

而这张专辑，至今还是爵士音乐历史上最最重要的专辑，之一？
