You have not seen a close friend for a very long time. You also still have a few of your friend’s belongings that were left at your house the last time he or she visited. In your letter include:

Apologize for still having the items and ask how you can return them

Hey Rob,
How're things? I was thinking about you the other day when I saw your things that I've been keeping for you on the entrance table. I found them in your room when I was cleaning last month. I meant to call you, but forgot. So, sorry for not telling you earlier and just letting them sit around! Regardless, I still have your pair of glasses, blue T‑shirt, and small travel bag.
Anyway, let's figure out how I can get them back to you. I was thinking of taking you up on your offer this weekend and driving up to see you. If you don’t have time for a guest on the weekend, I can still come up and just drop them off. I enjoy the drive anyway.
Other than that, everything else is good. Work has kept me occupied, although I'm still enjoying it, and whenever I get some free time, I try to get outdoors or work on the house, but it's nowhere near as fun and interesting as the weekend you spent here! I'll never forget the laughs we had around the barbecue and the late‑night conversations; we'll have to do that again for sure!

最近过得怎么样？前几天我在玄关桌上看到替你保管的东西，就想起了你。上个月打扫卫生的时候，我在你当时住过的房间找到了这些物件。我本打算给你打电话，结果却忘了。很抱歉没有早点跟你说，就这么把东西搁在我这儿了。话说回来，你的一副眼镜、蓝色 T 恤还有一个小旅行包，都还在我手上。
对了，咱们想想怎么把东西还给你。我打算这周末接受你的邀约，开车过去看你。如果你周末不方便接待客人，我也可以专程过去，只把东西放下就走。反正我本身也挺喜欢开车跑这一趟。
除此之外，我一切都挺好。工作一直挺忙，但我还是乐在其中。一有空余时间，我就尽量出门户外活动，或是打理房子。不过这些都远比不上你上次来我家共度的那个周末那么有意思！我永远忘不了我们围着烧烤台欢声笑语、彻夜长谈的时光；我们一定要再来这么一回！
