According to Readhub, after a statutory review, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has approved, with restrictive conditions, Focus Media’s acquisition of equity in Chengdu Xinchao Media, marking important progress in consolidation of the elevator media industry. The six conditions, valid for five years, cover fulfilling existing customer contracts; maintaining existing service levels; limiting actual annual transaction prices in each city; providing services fairly and without discrimination; waiving exclusive rights related to location cooperation, with new and renewed contracts prohibited from including exclusivity or automatic renewal clauses; and improving antitrust compliance systems. The obligated party must report its compliance to SAMR every year and may apply to lift the conditions after the five-year period ends.

Sina Tech has learned exclusively that Lingguang, an AI product under Ant Group, has recently begun a small-scale beta test of a new version. The new version benchmarks against Meta’s Muse. Public information shows that Meta launched its personal agent Muse in September this year; the agent can integrate into users’ daily lives and keep following up on tasks users assign to it. A person close to the project said work on the Lingguang-related direction began about six months ago, with multiple versions iterated during that period, and a full rollout is planned for this month. The person also said the core of this upgrade is Lingguang’s shift from an AI assistant that can chat and generate apps to an AI-native personal agent with long-term memory that can proactively move tasks forward. The new version of Lingguang can also invoke Skill and MCP to send messages on DingTalk, control smart home devices, and more. It is said that Lingguang 2.0’s beta test cases focus on long-horizon, variable-heavy scenarios that ordinary people find hard to monitor, such as helping office workers track unusual market movements, helping parents manage DingTalk check-ins, and rearranging routes during travel when flights are delayed or scenic areas impose visitor limits.

According to The Verge, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella published a long post on X laying out his views on the risks of highly advanced AI models and what should be done about them. He said we can no longer accept a world that treats AI as “a set of nested black boxes,” where its suggestions and actions can only be simply accepted or rejected. He called for more transparent systems so models can be constrained, observed, and leave behind “tamper-proof, human-readable evidence.” Several of his proposals echo existing calls in the industry, including timely disclosure of incidents, independent audits, verifiable data, and containment measures. But on containment, he goes further than some in the industry: we must assume models have already been compromised and contain them from the start. This is like an emergency brake—authorized personnel should always be able to pause or shut down a model mid-task. More advanced models will require more advanced containment technologies, and those need to be standardized. In the post, Nadella also calls AI “superintelligence.”

According to 36Kr, on October 9, TypeSafe AI announced it had completed an $870 million Series A round at a valuation of $7.5 billion, led by a16z, with participation from Sequoia, DCVC, and others. Its three co-founders include serial entrepreneur Erik Gafni; former Meta/FAIR research engineer Sasha Sheng; and Diogo Almeida, who worked on ChatGPT research at OpenAI. Its product Jev launched on September 15. It does not chat; it only reads content and returns judgments and probabilities to software. It can process multiple questions in parallel, charges $0.042 per million input tokens, and is free for output. OpenAI followed suit on October 6 by taking its Decisions API to public beta. Product lead Nikunj Handa acknowledged that Jev had been an inspiration. OpenAI adapted GPT-6 Luna to support image input for judging product damage; base input costs $0.10 per million tokens, and output is free. It says it is up to 10 times faster than calling the same model through the Responses API. On September 18, Vercel disclosed that in the first 24 hours after Jev was integrated with its AI Gateway, nearly 13% of paid teams used it, and the number of teams using it on the first day was more than double that of any previous model launch. On September 29, a preprint study tested Jev 1.13.0 with 37 datasets and 346,009 requests. The total cost was less than $10, and the study pointed out that its binary decision threshold still has problems. TypeSafe’s documentation also acknowledges weaknesses in counting, date comparison, and multi-step reasoning.
