According to The Verge, Google released its latest frontier model, Gemini 4 Carbon, on Wednesday, saying it has made significant gains in coding, agentic tasks and cybersecurity. Google says Carbon ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0 with a score of 59, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra. It scored 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, which measures the ability to find real vulnerabilities; 54.8% on ExploitGym, which measures exploitation capability; and 71.0% on the patch-repair benchmark CWE-bench. The model is another release after Gemini 4 Argon earlier this month, with a focus on strengthening vulnerability detection, validation and remediation. Google says it can push forward complex multi-step engineering tasks for several days in a row, take fewer shortcuts, resist prompt injection, and cut unsupported claims by half compared with Argon. Carbon is currently available only to selected cybersecurity defense companies, and will gradually expand to more trusted partners through the Fairwind Program. Google also says it is participating in the U.S. government’s voluntary pre-release testing process for models. Its entry price is the same as Argon’s: $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

According to cnBeta, Microsoft regulatory filings disclose that in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, ended September 30, 2026, the company earned $10 billion in revenue from its commercial partnership with OpenAI, including revenue-sharing arrangements, accounting for nearly 11% of total quarterly revenue of $92.3 billion. Despite intensifying competition in the AI market, the two remain closely tied commercially. Related revenue for fiscal 2026 was $24.1 billion; at the latest quarterly level, that would be about $40 billion over the next year. As of the end of September, OpenAI owed Microsoft $7.2 billion in accounts receivable, up from $6.0 billion at the end of June. This is historical transaction debt, not new revenue. Microsoft did not specify the respective shares from Azure cloud services and revenue sharing. The two reached an agreement in April this year under which OpenAI must continue providing revenue sharing to Microsoft through 2030, with a cap. In October 2025, Microsoft allowed OpenAI to work with other cloud providers, and OpenAI committed to purchase an additional $250 billion in Azure services. As of September this year, Microsoft held about 24% of OpenAI, down from 25% in June and about 27% after the 2025 restructuring. Microsoft did not explain the dilution.

According to CNBC, Jio Platforms, India’s largest telecom operator and digital services company, became India’s second-most-valuable company after listing, behind parent Reliance Industries. That gives Mukesh Ambani the country’s two most valuable companies. The stock listed on Wednesday at an issue price of 1,119 rupees, opened at 1,358 rupees, up 21.36%, and closed on the Bombay Stock Exchange up 26.66% at 1,417.35 rupees, with a market cap of 13.05 trillion rupees, about $137.1 billion. On Thursday, its second trading day, it opened up another 3.3%. After the IPO, Reliance Industries holds more than 64%. Jio’s IPO raised 302.13 billion rupees, with subscription 22.19 times. Analysts say the proceeds will be used to repay legacy telecom debt, and with the 5G investment cycle slowing, it will significantly improve its free cash flow. However, much of the value had already been priced in after listing, and its valuation is close to AT&T and Verizon. Jio plans to expand into AI, cloud, connected devices and space connectivity over the next 10 years. Its satellite communications plan was previously criticized by Musk, who accused the Ambani family of delaying Starlink’s launch in India. Separately, Bloomberg reported that Reliance group’s market cap is 30 trillion rupees, exceeding Tata group’s 25 trillion rupees.

According to cnBeta, Anthropic warned investors in its IPO filing that its outspoken advocacy for AI safety and public statements by executives could make it a target for government retaliation. The prospectus says the company has faced and may continue to face heightened scrutiny, and could be singled out by certain government agencies even when other similarly situated companies are not treated the same way. The tension stems from an earlier dispute this year over what safety guardrails should apply to the Pentagon’s use of its technology. More recently, the company has disagreed with government officials over whether its cutting-edge Mythos model is safe enough. CEO Dario Amodei supports a coordinated slowdown in AI development so safety teams can catch up with technological progress, which has drawn Trump’s displeasure. The prospectus also mentions proposed federal legislation that could force model shutdowns or even nationalize AI companies, as well as officials’ proposal to use the Defense Production Act to force companies to disclose information and cooperate with national security agencies. The company says trade controls could cause it to lose overseas customers, model misbehavior could bring legal consequences, and if the regulations it advocates are adopted, they would also increase compliance burdens and limit flexibility in product development and release. The Trump administration is both a regulator and a major customer; during the period covered by the IPO filing, government agency contract revenue accounted for about 1% of total revenue. The company also warns that advanced AI systems without safety guardrails could pose catastrophic or even existential risks to humanity.

According to cnBeta, ChangXin Memory Technologies expects to officially start mass production of HBM3E high-bandwidth memory before the end of 2026, with mass production planned within the next two months. The company began risk production in August this year and has supplied samples to some customers, with the product now moving toward commercialization. Sources say its HBM3E overall yield is about 20% to 30%, notably lower than leading international manufacturers; front-end wafer manufacturing yield is about 30%, and back-end packaging can further improve the pass rate by about 70%. The biggest technical challenge is the TSV through-silicon-via stacking process: Samsung’s HBM2 uses about 5,000 TSVs per layer, SK hynix’s HBM3 uses more than 8,000, while ChangXin uses about 3,000 TSVs for its HBM3E design. Due to this limitation, the company is focusing on 8-layer stacking in the near term and is not rapidly advancing 12-layer products. ChangXin has provided two types of samples—standard and yield-optimized—to domestic AI chip companies, and customers are testing and validating them. Preliminary tests show its performance is closer to SK hynix’s previous-generation HBM3, with a gap versus advanced HBM3E. If validation goes smoothly, domestic AI accelerators using its HBM3E could enter the market as early as 2027.
