On a Saturday afternoon in downtown Seoul, people settle into chairs on the cobbled plaza beneath Gwangtonggyo Bridge, seemingly undisturbed by the noisy city overhead. The Cheonggye Stream gurgles past, while classical music drifts from nearby speakers. Some chat or stare at their phones. But many have their noses in books.
