1973年来自美国的身患白化病而热爱布鲁斯音乐的Winter兄弟中的弟弟Edgar Winter带领自己的乐队the Edgar Winter Group发行了乐队的第一张唱片“They Only Come Out at Night”，这也是Edgar Winter个人的第三张录音室专辑。 这张专辑中Edgar Winter最大限度的释放出自己的创作力，由Jimmy Reeves负责制作的曲目“Free Ride”以单曲形式先发制人，虽然没能一鸣惊人，但当专辑收尾曲“Frankenstein”也以单曲形式发行后这两首歌一下子都成为热销曲目。 这张专辑行将临近发行50周年的时候，本期【一首歌系列】便也以这首单曲为它作先发铺垫～

这是张对我聆听Funk和Soul类音乐起到重要启蒙的专辑。如果说一个新晋乐迷直接上手听的话很难直接领会这张听起来怪怪的甚至有点粗糙的音乐。所以正值本专发行五十周年，节目一方面要做一个纪念和致敬，另一方面希望节目可以起到一点导聆的作用。
