Allann & KH – Pushing Limits with Growth Club Shanghai (GCS)In this episode, we explore what it means to push beyond limits and build an authentic community. Joining us are Allann and KH, the leaders behind Growth Club Shanghai (GCS), a free outdoor fitness community that has adapted and thrived through challenging times. Founded by fitness coach Jesper in 2020 as COVID began to reshape daily life, GCS started as small workout sessions outside his café Snug. When circumstances changed, as beloved coaches, Allann and KH stepped forward to guide the community, fostering resilience, physical transformation, and meaningful connections through their shared passion for fitness. Today, GCS remains true to its mission, as written in its philosophy: “We come together to mold out of grit, and sweat, the best version of ourselves. In GCS, we support each other to "DO MORE BE MORE." A mentality that comes from "if you're not moving forward, you're moving backward." Be consistent, enjoy what you're doing, work out smart, go out of your comfort zone, eat healthy and you will ultimately find progress.” GCS on Instagram & Rednote
Tyger Wen 泽禹 – Journey from self-doubt to abundance of loveIn this episode, we dive deep into the heart of what it means to be human in today’s world. Tyger, a licensed therapist and content creator, joins us to explore the intricate landscapes of mental health, love, and self-care. Oscar Cipolato – Curiosity through science and lifeFor this inaugural episode, we're joined by my dear friend Oscar Cipollato, a brilliant scientist whose work in photonics and nanotechnology is pushing the boundaries of biomedical engineering. Oscar shares his journey from a curious child in a multicultural family to a pioneering researcher in laser tissue soldering, exploring how scientific methods can deepen our understanding of the world, the human body, and ourselves. About Our Guest Oscar Cipolato is a research scientist working in physics and medical engineering. Born in Venice, Italy, Oscar grew up in a half-Italian half-Taiwanese household. After earning his master’s degree in physics from the University of Padova, he conducted research at DESY in Hamburg and Imperial College London, focusing on advanced physics applications. Oscar recently completed his PhD at ETH Zurich, Empa, and Balgrist Clinic, where his work centered on Intelligent Laser Tissue Soldering. This included developing techniques like robotic laser tissue soldering for atraumatic soft tissue fusion, guided by fluorescent nanothermometry. His research combined robotics, photonics, and nanotechnology to advance minimally invasive medical procedures. His contributions earned him the Empa Entrepreneur Fellowship, enabling him to transform his research into a startup. In addition to his technical achievements, Oscar is passionate about science communication, receiving the Nature “Science in Shorts” award for explaining his work on tissue soldering to a broader audience.
