因为check in平时就比较经常被理解成：登记；报到这个意思
eg: Passengers are requested to check in two hours before the flight.

3. 口语中还有另外一个意思，表示死了，挂了，东西坏掉。
To die.
eg: That rickety old car will definitely check in before you make it to the mechanic.
