今天我们来学学关键句当中的两个表达
1. hold it in
在口语当中，hold in有那种“屏气；收肚子”的意思，

eg: Hold in your stomach.
把你的肚子收起来。

如果我们搭配情绪来使用：
你可以说hold sth. in
或者keep sth. in
指的意思就是：把某个人的情绪自己收起来；藏起来不表现出来；
keep one’s emotions inside oneself

eg: You really shouldn't hold those feelings inside of you.
你真的不应该把那些情绪全自己一个人扛着。

eg: You shouldn't hold in all that anger.

2. pick up the pieces
什么意思呢？
这个比较好猜，字面意思是：捡起碎片。
所以引申义就是：收拾烂摊子；修复感情上、财政上或其他生活方面造成的损失；
try to return a situation to normality after a tragedy or trauma
或者try to repair emotional, financial, or other damage done to one's life

eg: Nora picked up the pieces of the broken lamp.
Nora捡起了摔碎了的台灯的碎片。
台灯摔碎了，Nora捡起了那些碎片。

eg: After our manager resigned, we were left to pick up the pieces.
在我们经理离职之后，我们不得不留下来收拾残局。

eg: Now, 10 days since the hurricane made landfall, residents are struggling to pick up the pieces.
