Do you ride a bike when you go out now?
It really depends on where I go. If I head to town, then I usually take the metro instead of cycling because it’ll take hours to get there. Mind you, if I’m just going somewhere in the vicinity of my neighborhood, then I might ride my bike because I do enjoy cycling, but usually, I cycle as a form of exercise and it’s actually something I try to do every morning.
Once in a while, on a free day, when the weather is really pleasant, I might go out on a sort of cycling expedition, you know, take some drinks and snacks, and explore the area.

Did you ride a bike to school?
Unfortunately, no, I didn’t because I didn’t own a bike back in my school days. The distance between my home and my elementary school was a few kilometers and it used to take me an hour to walk to school every day. My dad had a bike but it was too big for me and they never bought me one unfortunately, so I never learned to ride a bike either. It wasn’t until just a few years ago that I actually learned.

As I just said, I didn’t ride a bike back in my childhood because I didn’t own one, nor did I know how to ride a bike.
Did you have a bike when you were young?
No, I didn’t. I always wanted a bike though, and it was on my wish list, but I knew I’d never get one, at least back then because my family was of limited means.
I certainly envied the kids in the village who did own a bike, and so I looked at having a bike as a sort of freedom – you could get somewhere faster and you could venture to more places. So later when I learned how to ride a bike as an adult, I was able to finally feel that sense of freedom.
I find biking very enjoyable, and now when thinking back, I really wish my parents had bought one for me, but unfortunately, that was never on the cards.
