Thank you for your kind words. I am from Tennessee but since I’ve lived overseas for so long, my regional accent has disappeared and now I just speak “standard” Chinese.

Thanks for the reply! That makes a lot of sense, I’ve had a similar experience myself—I was born in a southern province , grew up in another one, and now I’m in college in Beijing. I’ve moved around so much that people can usually tell I’m from southern China, but they can’t really place my accent anymore either. I guess when we move a lot, our accents naturally level out over time.
