重阳节也被称作“老人节”。

在中国文化里，数字“九”（中文拼音为jiǔ）象征着“阳”（即阴阳学说中具有阳性、活跃特质的力量）而“重”（中文拼音为chóng）意为“双重、叠加”。因此，这个节日得名“重阳”。
In Chinese culture, the number "nine" (jiǔ in Chinese) symbolizes "yang"(the masculine, active force in the philosophy of yin and yang)while "chong" means "double." Hence, the festival gets its name "Chongyang" .
从起源之初，这个节日就承载着人们对健康长寿的美好祝愿。
Since its origin, the festival has embodied people’s wishes for good health and longevity.
随着时间推移，它逐渐演变成敬老、尊老的传统节日。
Over time, it has evolved into a tradition of honoring the elderly.
登山远眺是重阳节的主要活动。
Climbing mountains and enjoying the distant view are the main activities on this day.
除此之外，人们还会赏菊、饮菊花酒，并佩戴茱萸（中文拼音为zhūyú，是一种带有香气的灌木）。
Besides these, people enjoy chrysanthemums, drink chrysanthemum wine, and wear dogwood (zhūyú in Chinese, a type of aromatic shrub).

The Chongyang Festival is more than just a holiday—it is a gentle reminder.

It reminds us to respect and care for the elderly.
