I can totally relate to u Ling. Here’s my solution: Every time when this dilemma happens I tell myself“be responsible for your own needs”. This works for me because just like you said I always wanna be kind to people and want to prove it. But the truth is I don’t have to cuz true friends won’t leave you just because you want to also be kind yourself. And for those so-so relationships it could be a waste to make a compromise.
