Today’s story is a poem about an Owl and a Kitty Cat by the quiet sea.
今天的故事讲述在宁静海边的一只猫头鹰和一只小猫的故事。
Today, they are about to set off on a wonderful adventure.
今天，他们要踏上一段奇妙的旅程。

By the quiet blue sea, there lived an Owl and a Cat.
在宁静的蓝色海边，住着一只猫头鹰和一只小猫。他们两个是最要好的朋友。
The Owl was gentle and wise.
He loved to gaze at the night sky,
and listen to the soft waves lapping against his little sailboat.
猫头鹰温柔又聪明，喜欢仰望夜空，也喜欢躺在他的小帆船上，听海浪轻轻拍打船身。
Whenever the moon rose,
he would sit on the edge of his boat,
pluck his little guitar,
and sing soft songs to the stars.
每当月亮升起，他就坐在船边，拨动小吉他，唱着轻柔的歌给星星听。
The Cat loved to listen.
She sat beside him, her tail curled around her paws,
her golden eyes shining like two tiny moons.
小猫最爱听他唱歌。她坐在他身边，尾巴卷在脚边，金色的眼睛闪闪发光，像两颗小月亮。
Sometimes she hummed along,
sometimes she just closed her eyes and dreamed.
有时她轻轻地哼着，有时把眼睛闭上滑入梦乡。
One warm night,
as the stars shimmered above,
the Owl lifted his head and said,
“Dear Kitty, the sea is wide and full of wonders.
Shall we sail away and see the world together?”
一个温暖的夜晚，星星在空中闪烁。猫头鹰抬起头，说：“小猫，海洋那么宽广，那么神秘，我们一起扬帆远航去看看这个世界吧！”
The Kitty Cat’s eyes sparkled.
“Oh yes,” she said,
“let’s go where the water meets the sky.”
小猫的眼睛亮了起来，她轻声说：“好啊，我们就去那水和天相遇的地方看看。”
So they packed a small basket with honey, bread,
and a few shiny coins. Then they raised the sail
and set off together across the sea.
于是他们收拾了一个小篮子，里面有蜂蜜、面包，还有几枚亮闪闪的硬币。然后他们扬起帆，一起驶向大海。
The waves were gentle,
and the wind carried them farther and farther from shore.
海浪轻轻拍打，海风把他们送得越来越远。
Every night, the Owl sang to the Kitty Cat:
“O lovely Kitty, O Kitty, my love,
what a beautiful Kitty you are!”
“噢，可爱的猫咪，我亲爱的猫咪，你是多么美丽呀！”
The Kitty Cat’s heart melted as she listened.
“You sing so beautifully,” she said,
“I really do love being with you.”
小猫听得心都融化了。她轻轻地笑着说：“你唱得真好听，我真的很喜欢和你在一起。”
The Owl tilted his head,
his golden eyes glimmering as he thought for a moment.
猫头鹰歪着头，金色的眼睛闪了闪，认真地想了想。
“I heard,” he said gently,
“that when two people—or two creatures—truly love each other,
they’re supposed to get married.”
“我听说啊，”他轻声说，“当两个人——或者两只动物——真的喜欢彼此，就要结婚。”
“Get married? What’s that?” asked the Kitty Cat, her eyes wide with curiosity.
“结婚？那是什么？要去哪里排队吗？”小猫睁大眼睛，好奇地问。
The Owl blinked his golden eyes mysteriously and said,
“I’m not exactly sure, but I heard you need a ring.”
猫头鹰神秘地眨了眨金色的眼睛，说：“我也不太清楚，但我听说——结婚需要一枚戒指。”
The Cat flicked her tail and laughed.
“Then let’s go find one!”
小猫甩了甩尾巴，笑了起来：“那我们就去找一枚戒指吧！”
The Owl laughed too, and the moonlight shimmered across his feathers.
“Good idea, my dear Kitty,” he said.
“We’ll find the most beautiful ring in the whole wide world!”
猫头鹰也笑了，月光洒在他的羽毛上，闪闪发亮。“好主意，我的猫咪，”他说，“我们要找到世界上最美的戒指！”
So they sailed on,
over silver waves
and through days of sun and nights of soft rain.
他们继续航行，越过银色的海浪，穿过阳光与细雨的日子。
They saw dolphins leaping,
flying fish gliding,
and a whale who sang so deep
it made the sea tremble.
他们看见海豚跃出水面，
飞鱼在阳光下滑翔，
还有一头鲸，唱出低沉的歌声，
连大海都为之颤动。
After a year and a day,
they came to a land
where green trees grew beside the sea.
航行了一年又一天，他们终于来到一片长着绿树的海岸。
At the edge of the forest stood a small Pig,
with a shiny gold ring at the end of his nose.
林边站着一只小猪，鼻子上戴着一枚闪亮的金戒指。
“Good day, dear Pig!” said the Owl politely.
“Would you sell your ring to us?”
“你好，亲爱的小猪！”猫头鹰礼貌地说，“你愿意把戒指卖给我们吗？”
The Owl and the Kitty Cat took a coin from their basket and handed it to the Pig.
猫头鹰和小猫从篮子里拿出那枚硬币，递给了小猪。
The Pig wiggled his nose and said with a grin,
“For one shiny coin, it’s yours.”
小猪笑着摇了摇鼻子：“一枚硬币就行。”
The Owl and the Kitty Cat took a coin from their basket and handed it to the Pig.
猫头鹰和小猫从篮子里拿出那枚硬币，递给了小猪。
And the very next day,
The Owl and the Kitty Cat were married
on a hill covered in flowers.
第二天，他和小猫就在一座开满鲜花的山上结了婚。
The wind carried music through the trees,
and the sunlight made the sea sparkle.
微风在树间送来音乐的旋律，
阳光让海面闪闪发光。
And when the music faded,
the Owl and the Kitty Cat turned to each other, their eyes full of light.
The sea was calm, the air smelled of salt and dreams.
音乐渐渐消散，
猫头鹰和小猫转过身来，眼中闪着柔和的光。
海面宁静，空气里飘着咸咸的梦的味道。
They packed their little basket once more—
a bit of bread, a jar of honey, and their one shiny coin. 他们又收拾好小篮子——放上一点面包，一罐蜂蜜，还有那枚闪亮的硬币。
Then they raised the sail, letting the wind catch it like a wing,
and drifted toward the horizon,
to see what wonders waited beyond the sea.
他们扬起帆，让风像翅膀一样托起他们的旅程，
慢慢驶向远方的地平线，
去寻找海那边的奇迹。
