本期嘉宾>>> Bowrain(本名 Tine Grgurevič)

“I started as a pianist and studied classical music, and then studied jazz music as in improvisation in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, originally I am from Slovenia. And then I was a jazz pianist for quite some time, I think around 2012 when I realized that I have to go into my own direction, jazz didn't speak to me anymore at that time, and I also came up with this name, Bowrain, and then released the first album. 2012 I started, but then the album came out in 2014."

"It's always very challenging, because every concert situation, it brings you a lot of challenges. For instance, a few days ago, coming alone to the venue when you don't know the sound of the space, you don't know the character of the piano, you don't know the sound engineer."
"I'm someone that, of course, cannot live without doing what I do, doing music. Like this is my daily food, and I'm not good if I don't do it. And also someone that likes to save the world. And also I am someone that likes to enjoy food."

"'Million Homes' album deals in its idea, deals with the concept or issue of migration, issue of 'home', what is a 'home'? It's such a valid thing, you know? It's such an important thing that we, as, let's say, a privileged me, privileged white European. I have a very steady home, I have good family, but some people don't have this."
"'Million Steps' is a nice, unformal name. It's nothing too serious, but I had to do a million steps to come here, even more than a million. It’s a long journey, from Slovenia to China."

"In terms of the sound, there will be electronics, there will be voice, and there will be also beats. Sometimes my music is very rhymical and energetic, and also danceable."
“(My music is) Melodic. Emotional. Experimental. Physical."

"But performance is so exciting, and it's also very hard because sometimes it's hard to come back to reality after a performance. Like it's so intense, and then there is so much adrenaline, and then it's hard to drop it down and do the normal stuff."
"It's very challenging how to think big, how to think why and how to wait, how to be able to be patient.
I think patience is such a strong value that I normally don't have. I have learned this job made me be patient because it's not a secure job you always wait."
