大寒是二十四节气的最后一个，也是一年里最冷的时候。
The Great Cold is the last of the twenty-four solar terms. It is also the coldest time of the year.

Cold winds with snowflakes blow across bare branches in the street, making a whirring sound.
Every household shuts doors and windows tightly.
屋里炉火很旺，赶走寒气。
A big fire in the stove drives away the cold indoors.

On the table, dumplings have thin skins and lots of filling, steaming hot.
Glutinous rice balls are soft and sweet.

Old people boil cold-dispelling herbal soup to nourish their family.
田野里，麦苗被厚雪盖住。像盖了一床暖被子。
In the fields, wheat seedlings are covered by thick snow. It's like a warm quilt over them.
万物都在沉睡。
All living things are asleep.
它们在严寒里积蓄力量，等着发芽生长。
They gather strength in the bitter cold, waiting to sprout and grow.
大寒结束旧年，迎接新春。
The Great Cold ends the old year and greets the Spring Festival.
它是终点，也是新起点。
It is an end and a new start.
