Happy Chinese new year! 大家过年好！
今天我们就来聊一聊那些地道、常用的新年祝福语，不仅仅是翻译，更包含着语言背后的文化趣味。
01. “恭喜发财”英语该咋说？
一段“Merry Fa Cai, Gong Xi Christmas”的视频在社交平台刷屏，“圣诞快乐”混搭“恭喜发财”，感觉怪怪的（weird），但是又很好玩（funny）。A little Christmas, a little CNY (Chinese new year), and a whole lot of festive cheer (满满的节日欢乐)!
其实我们过年的时候挺常用“恭喜发财”这样的祝福语和memes（表情包）的。When you go to the supermarket, you’ll hear “Gong Xi Ni Fa Cai” (刘德华的《恭喜发财》) playing everywhere.
��“恭喜发财”英文是怎么翻译的呢？
直译（literal translation）是“May you get rich.”——“祝你变富”！听起来很豪爽，但是英文听起来有些奇怪（sounds a little strange in English）。
我们可以说：Wishing you happiness and prosperity!
Prosperity：繁荣/兴旺
主播Erin表示：在实际生活中，when sending others new year wishes，很少会把祝福说得这么具体（specific）。像“恭喜发财”、“万事胜意”这样的祝福语是很有中国特色的（very Chinese）。
02. 地道英文版新年祝福
当我们想要给外国朋友送上来自中国的新年祝福，或者你的外国朋友想要体验一下中国过年的氛围，我们就可以用到下面地道的英文祝福语表达：
（1）新年快乐
Happy New Year！
（2）身体健康
Wishing you good health.
（3）万事胜意：希望所有的事情都能比自己所希望的还要好
Wishing you all the best. 希望你一切都好。
May everything go your way. 所有事情都顺心如意。
（4）心想事成：心里想的都能实现
May all your wishes come true. 祝你所有的愿望都能实现。

Wishing you and your family happiness.
（6）年年有余
Wishing you abundance year after year. 希望你每年都很富裕。
May you have surplus and prosperity every year. 愿你年年都有盈余，生活富足。
��为什么中国年要挂鱼？
Because in Chinese, the word for “fish (鱼)” sounds the same as the word for “surplus (剩余/盈余的余)”. 当你每年挂鱼的壁画在墙上的时候，就象征着“年年有余”。
这些福语都是以“wish or may”开头的。In English, “wish and may” are how you say I hope or I wish for you. They’re perfect for holiday blessings (节日标配).
03. 西方人怎么说“新年快乐”?
