From my perspective, the way to learn English depends on your current situation. If you want to improve your pronunciation and get rid of Chinglish. It is an absolutely effective method to imitate native speakers like Shang Wenjie did. After that you can use M7 method to enrich your English knowledge base. Eventually you get to apply the knowledge to real life.🧐

For a long time, I also believed that a flawless foundation—pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary—was the 'entry fee' for real-world communication. However, I’ve realized that this linear approach is often a trap. If our goal is to actually communicate, we have to treat English less like a subject to be studied and more like a bicycle to be ridden. When we learn to ride a bike, we don't start by studying the physics of riding. We hop on. We wobble, we likely fall, and we feel the 'stress' of losing balance. It is exactly that stress—the trial and error—that teaches we brain how to stay upright. Learning English is the same. When we wait until we are 'ready' to speak, we are just practicing in a controlled environment. Methods like M7 or Shangwenjie's mimicking method are like riding a stationary bike in a gym: It’s safe: we never fall or get embarrassed. It’s controlled: we can track our 'mileage' and feel like we are working hard. But it’s an illusion: It lacks the dynamic unpredictability of the open road. we can 'parrot' perfectly in a gym for years, but the moment we hit the real pavement—where people speak at different speeds, use slang, or change the subject—we realize we haven't actually learned how to balance ourselves n the wild. We shouldn't learn words so we can one day communicate; we should communicate so we can discover which words we actually need.

I think I've hit a plateau because I haven't seen much progress in my English in the past half year.
